Tilmicosin is a semi-synthetic macrolide antibiotic developed for veterinary use. It exhibits similar antibacterial activity to tylosin but with greater potency against:

Gram-positive bacteria: Staphylococcus aureus (including penicillin-resistant strains), Streptococcus pneumoniae, Streptococcus spp., Listeria, Bacillus anthracis, Erysipelothrix, and Clostridium spp.

Gram-negative bacteria: Pasteurella, Haemophilus, Neisseria, etc.

Mycoplasma spp., including Mycoplasma gallisepticum
Tilmicosin is especially effective against Pasteurella multocida and Mycoplasma, with stronger activity than tylosin.

Drug Interactions:
