Florfenicol Soluble Powder

Main Ingredient:
Florfenicol

Specification:
20%

Pharmacological Action:

Pharmacodynamics:
Florfenicol is a broad-spectrum antibiotic of the amide alcohol class. It acts as a bacteriostatic agent by binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit and inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis. It has strong activity against various Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria.

It is highly effective against Pasteurella haemolytica, Pasteurella multocida, and Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae. Florfenicol retains activity against certain bacteria resistant to other amphenicols, such as E. coli and Klebsiella pneumoniae.

Used to treat bacterial infections in pigs, poultry, and fish caused by susceptible organisms, including respiratory diseases in cattle and pigs, typhoid, paratyphoid, fowl cholera, pullorum disease, colibacillosis in chickens, and bacterial septicemia and enteritis in fish.

Pharmacokinetics:
Florfenicol is rapidly absorbed after oral administration, reaching therapeutic plasma levels within 1 hour and peak concentration within 1–3 hours. Its bioavailability exceeds 80%. It is widely distributed in the body and can cross the blood-brain barrier. Excreted primarily unchanged in urine, with minor excretion via feces.
